What We Believe

The Scriptures

The Bible is God's inspired word, written by Spirit-controlled men. The 66 books of the Bible contains no errors in the original texts and are the complete and absolute standard of truth by which all human conduct and belief must be measured. These Scriptures are without error, authoritative in all they teach and completely sufficient for our instruction.

God

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person in the Godhead is equal in essence and power, but exercises distinct functions. God is infinite, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, unchangeable and loving. God is absolutely separate from and exalted above His entire creation, is free from every form of evil and is absolutely pure.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the second person of the trinity. He became a man to reveal God to man and to purchase redemption for man’s sin. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, was buried and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, bringing sinners to faith through the Word of God. Believers receive the Holy Spirit at the moment of conversion and are baptized by Him into the Body of Christ. He gives believers spiritual gifts and produces spiritual fruit in their lives. He leads, teaches, empowers and intercedes for believers.

Angels and Satan

Angels are powerful, immortal, spiritual and personal beings created by God as His messengers and servants. Satan, created by God as a beautiful and powerful angelic being, was consumed by pride, rebelled against God and fell from his holy state. Satan's activity is limited by God’s sovereign control and will ultimately be consigned with his demons into the eternal Lake of Fire.

Man

Man was specifically created by God in His image to have intellect, emotion and will. God breathed life into man making him a living soul. As recorded in Genesis, man fell from his state of innocence into a state of rebellion and enmity with God, becoming subject to physical and spiritual death and divine wrath. The human race inherited its sinful nature from Adam and is hopelessly lost apart from divine grace.

Sin

Sin originated in the historical Garden of Eden under the influence of Satan. Thoughts and deeds contrary to the holy character of God are sin. All people have inherited a sin nature from Adam and have thus incurred the wrath of God. The sin nature is the capacity to do any and all evil and results in the total depravity of man, rendering him unable to do anything on his own that will please God.

Salvation

Salvation is the gift of God to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in Him alone for eternal life. The sole basis of salvation is Jesus' shed blood. Man is completely unable to save himself apart from repentance and faith in the Person and work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Believers are born again through the power of the Holy Spirit. They are God’s own possession, eternally secure in Christ.

The Church

The Church was established by Jesus Christ and is composed of all believers in Christ who come to faith between Pentecost and the future Rapture. The spiritual Church is manifested through the local church, composed of baptized believers in the same locality who organize assemble together for the purpose of worship, instruction, training, fellowship and evangelism.

End Times

Jesus will personally take His Church from the earth prior to the tribulation and millennium. Believers will give account for their lives as Christians. All who have placed their faith in Jesus will live eternally with Him. At the end of the Tribulation, Jesus will return to earth with His saints to reign for a thousand years. Then every lost person will appear before Christ for judgment and condemnation to eternal punishment

Separation

Every believer should walk in a way that glorifies God, separated from the world, with the aid of the Holy Spirit. With regard to Christian liberty, each believer must guard against leading another brother or sister into sin. We believe God's Word admonishes us to participate in ministry only with churches, organizations or associations which adhere to sound doctrine.

Creation

God created the universe and man as recorded in the creation account in Genesis in six literal, consecutive, twenty-four hour days with no gaps of time before, between or after. God completed His creative work at the close of the sixth day and declared all was good. God’s creative work was entirely free of any form of evolutionary process.

Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

God’s design for the family is that husband and wife are of equal worth before God. The husband has the God-given responsibility to provide for, protect and lead his family. The wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband and serve as his helper in managing the household and nurturing the next generation.
